He graduated from Stanford with a degree in Computer Science and worked on networking and security in Carnegie Mellon's Computer Science PhD program before dropping out to help start Nicira.
James F. Williams is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for NASA Ames Research Center and is also a member of the Senior Executive Service (SES) ranks. James has been serving in the CIO community since February 2008, including Deputy CIO and Acting CIO.
