Cloud Operators on OpenStack Networking
A panel of cloud operators (not vendors!) talk about how they use OpenStack networking today and their goals for future network capabilities in the future. Panelists from both service providers and the enterprise will discuss current deployment models and best practices, as well as use cases around the need for high-availability, scalable private networking, multi-datacenter connectivity, service-insertion, and more. This will include deployments using Nova Networking, as well as the new Quantum Network Service that will become core in Folsom. We will reserve significant time for audience questions to the panel.

Erik Carlin joined Rackspace in 2008. As Chief Architect, he helped launch and grow Cloud Servers as well as innovate, integrate, and optimize multiple services across the Rackspace Cloud portfolio. Since joining eBay in 2008, JC Martin has been driving eBay's cloud architecture, focusing on improving agility and efficiency through automating infrastructure and application life cycle. Prior to Ebay, he held architecture positions at BMC software and Sun Microsystems, where he developed the architecture of large scale distributed system management solutions.
Ken is the co-founder and CTO of Solinea, a leading consulting and software provider enabling enterprises and service providers to accelerate the adoption of cloud computing. Prior to Solinea, Ken was Cloud Technology Partners' (CloudTP) Vice President for their OpenStack Practice, where he led the company's cloud infrastructure consulting efforts. Senior Group Product Manager, IaaS, HP
Gavin Pratt is the product management group lead at HP Cloud Services for compute, storage, CDN, and networking. Before joining HP Cloud Services, Gavin held a number of corporate and business-unit strategy related roles at HP, where he specialized in cloud computing. Prior to HP, he worked at The Boston Consulting Group and at a startup. Gavin holds an MBA in Finance & Strategic Management from The Wharton School and a BA in Economics from Yale University. He lives in the Bay Area.
OpenStack Lead, VMware
Dan Wendlandt from Nicira is the project technical lead (PTL) for the OpenStack Quantum project. He has been in product management and software development roles at Nicira, helping customers deploy the company's Network Virtualization Platform (NVP) in both public and private clouds. He graduated from Stanford with a degree in Computer Science and worked on networking and security in Carnegie Mellon's Computer Science PhD program before dropping out to help start Nicira.
